Microsoft Silverlight is a deprecated application framework for writing and running Internet applications, similar to Adobe Flash. This web browser plugin is not a requirement for the purpose of e-filing. While some antiquated government websites may still utilize this software, users do not need it to file in our application.
In 2012, Microsoft deprecated Silverlight for HTML5 in Windows 8. As of July 2015, it began encouraging companies that still use Silverlight to transition away from it. The company plans to terminate Silverlight support on October 12, 2021. There is no Silverlight plugin available for their Edge browser. Google Chrome has not supported it since September 2015; Firefox since March 2017; and Safari since September 2018. As of February 2020, fewer than 0.04% of all websites use Silverlight.
