Santa Barbara Superior Court is raising its e-filing recovery fee from $6.45 to $10.00 per envelope, effective September 1, 2025. This is the first increase since the e-filing system was implemented in 2017.

Government Code §68150(l) and California Rule of Court 2.506 permit the court to impose a cost recovery fee to offset the expense of providing electronic filing. The court has undertaken substantial investments in technological equipment and infrastructure to provide e-filing, implement the Odyssey Case Management System and expand memory capabilities as the database of case records continues to grow. To offset a portion of those expenses the court is increasing the electronic filing fee.
